Significance of Navratri Fasting:

Both the Navratris fall on the beginning of spring & autumn, this is considered the period the climatic change which influence our body and mind, so the logic behind Navratris are to detoxify our body and mind through fasting and worshiping the source of energy Maa Durga.

Navratri fasting and detoxifying our Body: It is not such a strange concept as it may seem. The nine nights of Navratris is traditionally a time to fast and to pray. It is a time to cleanse the mind and body, to rejuvenate to mange with climatic change. Both Navratris are time for our body to change gears and get ready for the next season, ideally its time to give the body rest in our regular habits.

During Navratri fasing, we invoke to the Maa Shakti (Durga), the source of all energy. Durga literally means the remover of miseries of life. The word Durga derives from Durgatinasini, it means who eliminate all sufferings. This is the source of energy, by which Gods do the work of creation, preservation and destruction, which helps our solar system move, which helps all creatures live. Our worship of Shakti teaches the scientific theory that energy can’t be created or can’t be destroyed. It is always there.

Three Stages of Navratri

The first 3nights the goddess invoked as Maha Kali – The goddess of destroyer, we payed her strength and power, which needs to eliminate deep rooted negativities, impurities, illusions and delusions. Its actually our invocation to the Divine Power within us to assist us to destroy all negativities resides within us.

Next three nights, Goddess worshiped as Maa Lakshmi, who is known as Preserver. She blessed us with all power which helps us to preserve the humankind. Goddess Lakshmi represents wealth not only material welth but also spiritual wealth like self discipline, respect, sincerity, kindness, love, compassion, courage & wisdom By our worship we blessed with  wealth of noble values to nourish and purify our minds.

Last three nights worshiped Maa Saraswati – The Goddess of Creator. To abolish illusions of mind require wisdom through learning & relalisation. Maa Saraswati symbolises the ultimate source of learning.
